planTable serves as a public gathering space for learning and creative reflection around sustainability, biodiversity, and climate change. A modular, scalable table with integrated live  native plants fosters community belonging and environmental sustainability. This eco structure in the form of a community table will transform a site in Chinatown into an engaging green space for visitors and the community to gather, learn, and reflect. It responds to Chinatown’s need for more cool, welcoming spaces for people and local wildlife. Combining landscape architecture, horticulture, and visual arts, planTable will generate a special space that is welcoming to people of all backgrounds and will reflect the welcoming nature of Chinatown.

About Ecosistema Urbano

Ecosistema Urbano is a team of architects, urban planners and professionals specializing in urban transformation and innovation, operating under design thinking principles at the intersection of different disciplines: urban planning, architecture, engineering and sociology.

They define their philosophy as urban social design, a concept that encompasses a way of understanding the city, its social context and associated dynamics, with an approach that promotes self-organization and social interaction and a sustainable relationship with the surroundings and the environment.
