Join Pao Arts Center to celebrate the Lunar New Year!

We will host an afternoon of art, interactive workshops, and performances. All ages are invited to join us for cultural activities as we usher in the year of the dragon!

About Our Partners and Artists

Yolanda Yuanlu Peng

Yolanda Yuanlu Peng is a Boston-based theater designer and visual artist. Recently graduated from Harvard Graduate School of Design, her practice focus on the intervention of art, design, curation, and performance in public domain and urban contexts. She is the director of visual arts and media at Vermilion Theater, an afterschool drama instructor, and theater designer straddling set, projection, and puppetry, exploring the intersection of theater and public engagement. 

Nüwa Athletic Club 

 

Nüwa Athletic Club, based in Boston, MA, provides an environment for Asian American girls and women to enhance their physical and emotional development through teamwork, sportsmanship and cultural activities which includes but is not limited to lion and dragon dance.

Bren Bataclan

Bren Bataclan is a Boston-based Filipino-American artist. Bren gives away paintings around the world and he paints murals across the country. The cartoon-like characters Bren draws and paint are inspired by his days watching "Giant Robot" anime shows when he was a kid in Manila. 

Korean Cultural Society of Boston

Founded in October, 2012, the Korean Cultural Society of Boston (KCSB) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and provides opportunities for the Greater Boston area to learn and engage with arts, culture, and heritage of Korea while simultaneously empowering and promoting the Korean American community. 

Tibetan Association of Boston

Tibetan Association of Boston operates a weekly Sunday School program. Students engage in study, performance, and community events. The school is a community endeavor, led by a parents committee and taught by volunteer educators. We engage our broader communities in special events throughout the year, sharing the unique culture and traditions of Tibet with our families, friends, and neighbors.

ArtsEmerson

ArtsEmerson presents Projecting Connections: Chinese-American Experiences. Using film as a lens to reflect on the vast lived experiences of the Chinese in the Greater Boston Area, this special series will feature monthly films and post-show curated discussions designed to build and foster meaningful community conversation.
